The other day I had lunch with 2 good friends. We talked about everything and nothing, we talked about life, love and everything else in between. We've all grown so much since highschool and I can't help but look back to the wonder years. Everything was much easier then. Everything.
In the midst of laughter and hidden tears, I couldn't help but feel a tinge of jealousy as my eyes panned through this lovely old couple sharing lunch. I wiped away the tears but I couldn't shrug off the desire that was tugging at my heartstrings.
I want that.
I want that for myself.
Now that I'm thinking about it, in the future I would love to have someone to grow old with. I had someone I grew up with, (and deep inside I wished and am still hoping that he would be the one I would eventually grow old with) but having someone to love you wrinkly face, toothless grin and all -- would be unbelievable. Someone who knows you bone-deep, someone who literally loves you through the good times and the bad times.
Someone you could call the love of your life.
It'll be a long, tiring road alone but I know that it will be well worth it cause I know that
I want that.
I want that for myself.
I will have that.
